K Club: The Living Tradition

K Club began when the first letter was awarded in 1877. The faces of varsity athletics at The University of Kansas have changed through the years, but our uniquely shared experiences across generations and sports are what bind us together forever. The story of Kansas Athletics is one deeply rooted in history and tradition. There is no greater tradition than the people who helped create our legacy. K Club provides an avenue for us to come together in unity to celebrate with pride, our respect and love for the Crimson and Blue.

New This Year

K Club is shifting away from its traditional dues-based structure of membership into a more inclusive membership system. Your peers who serve on the K Club Board of Directors championed this fundamental reorganization of how K Club membership is defined in an effort to enhance the Jayhawk family experience. Moving forward, anyone who has participated in a varsity sport at the University of Kansas as a student-athlete, head coach, student manager or student athletic trainer will now automatically become a member of K Club.

“Competing as a Jayhawk was an integral part of my wonderful education and overall KU experience. That foundation was essential to my career. Helping make a path possible for current and future Jayhawks through our gifts is one way to pay it forward. Also, helping provide career advice and encouragement is another way I give back and it’s so gratifying to see these Jayhawk student-athletes take flight and set off on their own career paths.” – Linda Ellis-Sims (Swimming & Diving/Pictured Above)
